Review by Claire Thompson

Live in Centelles is an exceptional album that showcases the incredible talents of Oriol Roca and Giovanni Di Domenico. The album features a series of live performances that were recorded in Centelles, Spain, and it captures the energy and passion of their music.

The album is a perfect blend of jazz, avant-garde, and experimental music, and it features a range of instruments, including drums, piano, and synthesizer. The musicianship on display is truly remarkable, with both Roca and Di Domenico demonstrating their remarkable skill and creativity.

The album is full of surprises, with unexpected twists and turns that keep the listener engaged and intrigued. The music is complex and challenging, but it is also accessible and enjoyable, making it a great choice for fans of jazz and experimental music.

About Oriol Roca, Giovanni Di Domenico

Barcelona born drummer Oriol Roca is one of the most prolific musicians of his generation, and a widely demanded musician in the spanish jazz scene. When playing solo Roca expands his set using all kinds of cymbals, different drums, objects, metal bars, plastic bags, stones, toys, bags of sand, a cheap wood flute, kitchen utensils, mini bells, chinese sticks, an original 223 Paiste gong from 70s a good friend gave him& anything capable of creating sound is welcome to explore in a free musical form the infinite possibilities of textures, density, dynamics were all surrounded by. At an early age Oriol moved to The Netherlands and started to forge a career with musicians all around Europe. His versatility and the melodic approach he has to the instrument allowed him to build strong bounds with a large number of musicians from the jazz and contemporary scene not only in Spain next to David Mengual, Dani Pérez or Giulia Valle, but with French, Belgian and Italian musicians such as Jeroen van Herzeele, Alexandra Grimal, Paolo Angeli, Joachim Badenhorst, Giovanni di Domenico, Riccardo Luppi, Didier Labbé, Manolo Cabras or Lynn Cassiers.
