Review by Ian Coats

Anthony Braxton's B X0 NO 47A is a daring and experimental album that pushes the boundaries of jazz and improvisation. The album features Braxton on alto saxophone and a range of other instruments, including flute, clarinet, and percussion.

The tracks on B X0 NO 47A are complex and challenging, with intricate rhythms, dissonant harmonies, and unexpected shifts in tempo and mood. Braxton's playing is virtuosic and unpredictable, constantly exploring new sonic territories and pushing the limits of what is possible on his instruments.

Despite its avant-garde leanings, the album is also deeply rooted in jazz tradition, with nods to bebop, swing, and free jazz scattered throughout. Braxton's collaborators on the album, including drummer Gerry Hemingway and pianist Marilyn Crispell, are equally skilled at navigating these different styles and bringing their own unique voices to the music.

I just discovered anthony braxton while hanging out on youtube. I then did some research on him. In my opinion, he is certainly the biggest crook in the history of jazz. It's totally amazing that he could have such a career in the music world and have such academic positions. I mean, what is going on with the listeners, the media and the jazz community that they want us to believe that this guy is a genius? Everything about him is a problem: his instrumental technique is close to zero, his music itself is modern when it sounds like a beginner's band, his gibberish discourse about his music means absolutely nothing, but also his interviews in which he comes across as a pretentious old bigot. Please, retire and let the real artists play.
